Course objective:
Field Officers play very important roles at the field level of any MFI.
The FOs are responsible for all day-to-day field all operational aspects including loan appraisal and recovery; they are also responsible for documentation and record keeping of loans, customer service and compliance of rules, regulations and guidelines of MRA, PKSF. In addition FOs are responsible for building a rapport with the community to attract business and assisting with customer relations.
This session is specially designed to provide a clear understanding and overview of the Field Officers’ Roles, responsibilities and duties to the course participants.
Course audience:
Field Officers and Management of micro-finance institutions, finance managers and credit officers.
Course Contents:
- Area prefeasibility and survey activities.
- Mobilization and Group meetings
- Supervise groups and borrowers and monitor the daily activities.
- Verify, Review and propose/endorse loans for approval, restructuring, paralegal and legal action.
- Prepare documents and files of approved loans. Ensure their safekeeping.
- Microfinance program’s deposit and loan targets prescribed by the Branch Manager and/or senior management of MFI.
- Ensure depositing of all cash after daily/monthly collections to the branch for safe-keeping and documentation.
- Conduct client re-briefing during loan release.
- Ensure 100% on-time collection of loan amortizations.
- Develop a working culture of compliance with rules, regulations and guidelines and “zero tolerance on missed loan payments.”
- Submission of monthly accomplishment reports (actual performance versus targets) to the Branch Manager.
- Attend all training activities conducted by the MFI.
- Perform other tasks as may be prescribed by the Branch Manager or higher authorities.
